Executive Director Leadership Traction Lab

Leading a nonprofit will always be challenging—but does it have to be this hard?

Every day, you pour your heart into the mission God has entrusted to you. Yet many ministry leaders find themselves feeling as though the work is running them instead of the other way around. The reality is that thriving ministries aren't simply fortunate—they've developed intentional habits, systems, and leadership practices that create sustainable momentum.

That's why the New England Mission Foundation and the Protein Foundation are inviting you to join us for a special two-day Executive Director Leadership Traction Lab designed specifically for ministry and nonprofit leaders across New England.

Over the past two decades, the Catapult team has worked alongside more than 1,300 nonprofit organizations, discovering eight common leadership drivers that consistently help ministries move from simply surviving to thriving. Those principles became the foundation of the Impact Operating System (ImpactOS)—a practical leadership framework designed specifically for nonprofits and ministries to help leaders execute with greater clarity, focus, and effectiveness.

During our time together, we will focus on:

Impact Dashboard & Ministry Metrics

Doug Paul, Managing Partner of Catapult and co-author of Built for Impact, will lead us through building an Impact Dashboard—a practical leadership tool that helps executive directors identify the few metrics that truly matter. Instead of measuring activity alone, you'll learn how to track the indicators that reveal the health, effectiveness, and future direction of your ministry.

This is More Than a Conference

This is an interactive working lab where you'll leave with practical tools—not just notes.

Each ministry will leave with:

  • A practical donor development roadmap.
  • A customized ministry Impact Dashboard.
  • Clear metrics that align with your mission and vision.
  • Actionable next steps you can implement immediately.
  • Coaching and collaboration with fellow executive directors facing similar challenges.

Our goal is simple: to help you build leadership systems that turn passion into measurable, sustainable progress. Rather than working harder, you'll learn practical frameworks that help your ministry move forward with greater clarity, accountability, and long-term impact.

Donor Development

Discover proven strategies for cultivating stronger donor relationships, creating a sustainable development plan, and building a culture of generosity that fuels your ministry's mission.

Pre-Work

Prior to the Leadership Lab, you'll receive a brief five-minute overview video and a chapter from Built for Impact to review. These resources will provide a common foundation so that our time together can be spent building tools specifically for your ministry.
